How we work

Treasure advises companies, banks, investors and public bodies on the commercial, managerial and operational issues they face. We give clear advice, keep you informed, and aim to save you time and cost.

Each instruction is handled by a team led by a partner, chosen for the experience the work needs. We take time to understand your sector, and we tell you about new laws and regulations that affect your business as soon as they take effect.

Practice areas

Our work spans contentious and non-contentious matters.

Dispute resolution

We resolve disputes in the forum that serves your business best. Commercial litigation conducted with your goals in view and minimal disruption to your operations. Where court is not the best forum we use negotiation, conciliation, mediation and arbitration, across commercial, oil and gas, IP, telecoms, tax, labour and pension disputes.

Corporate and commercial

We advise on deals, governance and compliance from incorporation onwards. Corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, governance and compliance, company secretarial services, incorporation, restructurings, liquidations and joint ventures.

Banking and finance

We structure, advise on and document financing transactions. Credit and security, banking and securities regulation, property, aircraft and ship finance, offers and placements, with deal structuring and documentation.

Energy and taxation

We advise companies working in Nigeria’s oil, gas and power sectors. Production sharing, joint operating, bidding and gas supply agreements, licences, permits and local content. Tax advice covers petroleum profits tax, corporate and personal tax, stamp duties, VAT, customs and excise.

Real estate

We advise on every stage of the property life-cycle. Acquisitions, development, leasing, sale and leaseback, real estate finance, Certificates of Occupancy, consents, lands registry searches and perfection of title.

Public law

We act in constitutional, electoral and administrative proceedings. Constitutional and administrative proceedings, electoral disputes, human rights and criminal law matters.

Labour, employment and immigration

We advise employers on people, pensions and permits. Employment contracts, handbooks, pensions, trade disputes, and immigration permits, quotas and visas for Nigerian and foreign clients.

Foreign investment and debt recovery

We help foreign investors set up in Nigeria and help creditors recover debts. Establishing companies with foreign participation and securing approvals, plus recovery of local and international debts for banks and individuals.
